Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 1, 2026 · Last updated: August 1, 2026
Victor Hall (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates Dagly, an iOS app that helps parents plan their kids’ week. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Dagly is designed for parents and guardians — you enter information about your children, so we handle that data with particular care, as described below.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use Dagly.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information. You can sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google, or your email address. Depending on the method, we receive your name, email address (or a private relay address if you choose to hide your email with Apple), and an account identifier from that provider. If you sign in with email and a password, your password is stored as a secure hash — we never see it in plain text. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
- Children’s information. You may add up to three children to your account: a name (or nickname), a display color, and an optional photo. This information is entered by you, the parent or guardian, and is used only to display and organize your family’s schedule.
- Events and notes. Event titles, dates, times, recurrence settings, and any notes you add.
- Partner details. If you choose to share the week with a co-parent, you may enter their name and phone number. This is used only to pre-fill a text message sent from your own phone — we never contact your partner directly. When your partner opens the invite link and installs Dagly, they create their own account and join your family’s shared calendar as a co-parent with full access to view and add events.
- Voice input. If you use voice capture, your speech is converted to text using Apple’s speech recognition (which may be processed on your device or on Apple’s servers, per your device settings). The resulting text transcript is sent to our backend and forwarded to Anthropic to turn it into a structured event. We do not store your audio recordings, and transcripts are not used to train AI models.
- Support requests. If you contact us, we collect your email address and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the app is used: which features you open, events like creating or editing an entry, session information, device model, OS version, app version, and app language. This data is associated with your account identifier so we can improve the product. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
- Purchase information. If you subscribe to Dagly Plus, our subscription provider (RevenueCat) processes your subscription status and purchase history. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment card details.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not access your contacts, calendar, or photo library (except the specific photos you actively pick as a child’s avatar).
- We do not show ads and we do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
- We do not sell your data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide Dagly’s core functionality: your family’s week view, reminders, voice capture, and partner sharing
- Sync your data securely across your devices
- Manage your subscription and unlock paid features
- Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the app
- Respond to support requests
- Send important service notices (e.g., security or terms updates)
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and backend provider, in the European Union. Child avatar photos are stored in a private storage bucket that only your authenticated account can access. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS), and access is restricted at the database level so each account can only ever read its own data. Your sign-in session is stored securely in your device’s Keychain.
4. Third-Party Services
Dagly uses the following service providers. Each only receives the data necessary to perform its service:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, file storage | All account data | supabase.com/privacy |
| Google Sign-In | Authentication | Name, email, Google ID | policies.google.com/privacy |
| PostHog (EU) | Product analytics | Usage events, device info, account ID | posthog.com/privacy |
| Anthropic | Parsing voice transcripts into events | Text transcript of your voice input | anthropic.com/legal/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Purchase history, app user ID | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Apple | Payments, speech recognition, notifications | Per Apple’s terms | apple.com/privacy |
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of our users or ourselves. If Victor Hall is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction and we will notify you.
Partner invite links
When you invite a co-parent to share your week, Dagly generates an invite link containing a unique token, which is pre-filled into a text message you send from your own phone. Only share this link with the person you intend to invite — anyone who uses it can join your family’s shared calendar as a co-parent. You can remove a co-parent from your account at any time in the app, which immediately revokes their access to your family’s schedule.
5. International Data Transfers
We keep your data in the EU where possible (Supabase and PostHog are EU-hosted). Some providers — Anthropic, Google, Apple, and RevenueCat — may process data in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
- Account data (profile, children, events, photos) is retained while your account is active.
- You can delete your account directly in the app (Profile → Delete account). This permanently deletes your profile, children’s information, photos, and events. Deletion is completed within 30 days.
- Analytics data is retained for up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymized.
- Voice transcripts are processed to create your event and are not retained as recordings.
7. Children’s Privacy
Dagly is an app for parents and guardians — it is not directed at children, and children do not create accounts or use the app. The information about your children (name, color, optional photo, schedule) is provided by you and processed solely to provide the service to you. We apply the same protections to this data as to all account data, and it is deleted when you delete your account.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us at victor@dagly.app and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
You can exercise most rights directly in the app: edit or delete children, events, and partner details at any time, or delete your entire account. You also have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — have your data deleted
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format
- Restriction & objection — restrict or object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email victor@dagly.app. We respond within 30 days.
For users in the EU/EEA (GDPR)
- Data controller: Victor Hall, victor@dagly.app
- Lawful bases: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (product analytics, security, fraud prevention), and consent where required.
- You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Sweden, this is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY) — imy.se.
For California residents (CCPA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA. Contact victor@dagly.app to exercise these rights.
9. Data Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), database-level access rules that isolate each account’s data, private photo storage with expiring signed URLs, and secure session storage in the iOS Keychain. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date above and notify you in the app or by email. The current version is always available at dagly.app/privacy.
This policy is available in Swedish and English. If the versions differ, the Swedish version prevails.
